Day 1
Seeing as how this was the first Expo for me, ever, the first day was a nice introduction to it all. Admittedly, there were very little events that were of interest to my friend and I, so we actually spent a great deal of time just waiting for the stuff we wanted to see. The best thing about the first-time experience was seeing all the cosplayers, and how much in force they were. I expected a lot, but nowhere near the amount that we saw, nor how many were so good. Plus, there were a lot of very attractive people (mostly ladies). Always a plus!
The first events we attended were the Anime Expo Idol Singing and Voice Acting Auditions. Those were a lot of fun to hear, but we were severely disappointed on how weakly the singers were critiqued when they ended up being less than stellar. I especially liked the Voice Acting stuff though, and made me consider trying for it next year. My friend and I also went to attend the Morning Musume panel. We were severely out of place, since most of everyone were crazy fans of them, and we were just there to see cute idols in person. Worth it. We did a few little things here and there in between and afterward, but not much, and we ended up going home early.
Day 2
Awesomest day, ever. Day 1 was enjoyable and all, but my friend and I had an absolute blast on Day 2. For one, we pretty much attended all the panels for the distribution/publishing/etc. companies (Bandai, Viz, Aniplex, etc.), and enjoyed seeing some neat previews and being part of the rabid crowd that cheered at everything awesome. The best had to be Bandai, though, since we got to see a nice long clip of the Eureka 7 reimagining for the movie. Aniplex was cool too, if only for the sweet video of Kara no Kyoukai. We also went to an introduction for Anime/Manga studies, which was fairly interesting. Following that, we went to a panel celebrating the 30th Year Anniversary of Gundam. It was just plain awesome, hilarious, and fun. We also went to watch the fan movie, Alfred Leebop, which is a fan movie inspired by the Cowboy Bepop universe. It was very well made, and a great watch, though nothing superb.
Somewhere near the middle, we went out towards the Artist's Alley, and started buying stuff. I got to meet
